Eleonora Varotto curated the sixth edition of Cluster Contemporary Jewellery Fair, The Living Trace: Jewellery as Craft in Motion, held at The Swiss Church in Covent Garden from November 21 to 23, 2025.
For this edition, Eleonora selected an international group of artists whose work explored jewellery as a living craft, an artefact that preserves memory, resists disposability, and reflects both personal and collective histories. Through their pieces, participating artists such as German Kabirski Studio, Dimitra Besiou, Armin Ensannajib, Xiaoqing Rong, and others offered visitors an intimate encounter with jewellery as a medium of transformation, survival, and reinvention.
Working closely with the London-based Cluster team, Eleonora helped shape a curatorial vision that connected tradition with forward-looking experimentation. This collaborative process strengthened the Fair’s identity and continued to nurture the vibrant community that Cluster has been cultivating over the years.
Amid ongoing environmental shifts and evolving cultural landscapes, The Living Trace reimagined contemporary jewellery as an active, essential practice. Each piece, however small, became a vessel for shared memory and a spark for envisioning what lies ahead.
Rooted in inherited techniques yet shaped by a spirit of experimentation, the works challenged the idea of the disposable object, instead revealing layers of personal and collective narratives.
More than decoration, jewellery emerged as a potent language through which identity, origin, and resilience could be worn and communicated.
